Future Projects

India

A pool of volunteers will be heading out to India October 2010 where they will be staying for a duration of three months. Teachers, Therapists and teaching assistants will be looking at ways to develop the current educational structure within the special needs school. This will then be used a template and model to take into other institutions, schools and organisations around the world.

Africa

A group of young dynamic volunteers will flying out to Kenya in November 2010, to help local villages grow their own vegetables and crops, cleaning surrounding areas and looking at ways of providing clean water and sanitation.

We will also envisage providing basic meals (langar) for the duration of our stay and building sustaining partnerships with local orphanages and institutions to help them become self sufficient once we have left the country. By working in partnership with other umbrella organisations we can collectively make a difference.

The concept of ‘Langar’ was started by the founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak Dev Ji It is the only free kitchen of its kind in the world, collectively serving millions around the globe each year, regardless of gender, social standing, caste, colour, religious affiliation, or beliefs. Through this ideal of equality, the tradition of Langar expresses the ethics of sharing, community, inclusiveness, and oneness of all humankind.

As well as bringing Langar to the children and people of Kenya, we wish to enrich their lives and give them HOPE.
